Colleen was born in Mackay NQ, and in 2001 moved to Eumundi from Brisbane after graduating from University of Queensland with a degree majoring in Art History and Psychology. There she completed a post-graduate Diploma in Art Therapy. She managed the well-known Mooloolaba Art Gallery – The Blue Dolphin Gallery – until 2007 when she left the Sunshine Coast to move to Mission Beach, North Queensland; from there moving back to Mackay working, and painting for, Milton House Fine Art Gallery and Art Shop. She currently lives and works from an art studio in Eungella – a beautiful rainforest area west of Mackay.

An experienced artist and art teacher, she has been painting in oils and acrylics for over 40 years – teaching art to children and adults for over 20 years. She has exhibited all over Queensland, including the Customs House Art Gallery Brisbane, Green Frog Gallery Maleny, LizArt Gallery Montville, the Attic Gallery Eumundi, Blue Dolphin Gallery Mooloolaba, Helen Wiltshire Gallery Mission Beach, Milton House Gallery Mackay. Her work has been awarded many prizes and is included in the Central Queensland University Gallery Collection and other private collections. Colleen has also painted theatre backdrops, shopping-centre holiday themes, murals, and book illustrations. In 2005, she worked with youth on Youth Justice Orders to paint murals on cell walls of the Maroochy Watch-house and ran creative workshops for Integrated Family and Youth Services. In 2007 Colleen worked with 240 school children from Yandina and North Arm schools to paint a large mural on the wall of Wappa Dam Sunshine Coast- now a tourist attraction for Wappa Dam). She also directed Slade Point residents in a community arts project to paint telephone poles in their main street.
